Parker's surgery

Surgery is scheduled for Monday April 6 at 8:00am. Which incidentally April 6 was my due date. We had an apt yesterday with the cardiologist and they decided to admit Parker and start him on some medication. His heart is starting to work harder than it should and they wanted to monitor him until surgery. So we are back in the hospital for a while. Parker's going to think that's his home! Surgery should take 2-1/2 hrs. They make an incision under his left arm, right along the ribs and don't break any bones which makes healing much faster. Basically what they are going to do is cut out the narrow part of his aorta and then sew the two good ends together. He will most likely be on some blood pressure medication for a few months and after that regular check ups to monitor blood pressures. The surgeons Dr Smith & Spector both say this is a routine surgery for them. Everyone keeps telling us that babies heal faster than adults and the good thing is Parker is too young to remember any of this. I know its all true but it's still hard to see your baby hurting. Please pray for us, especially as we are waiting the 2-1/2 hrs during surgery on Monday and pray that Parker will have no complications and healing will be fast and complete.

Seeing Parker laying in the crib make me want to cry. We'll probably come visit him Sunday night.
