this is what we have been hearing in our house lately. Over and over and again and again. When we ask Zachary "What kind of animals?" He says elephants with trunks, lions and tigers. So finally Brian promised him that we would go to the zoo and see the animals. The weather was perfect on Wednesday and we headed up to the Akron Zoo for a few hours. At first Zachary was a little nervous and unsure about the animals being so up close, but after we told him they were fenced in and couldn't come out he was fine.

This red panda bear was soo cute, I just had to take his picture!

The entire time we were walking around, Zachary kept asking for the tigers and bears. The tigers and bears are toward the end of the zoo. Right before we got there we stopped at the petting area to pet the sheep and goats. There was another little boy there with his mom and when we were washing our hands the other mom told the little boy that he could have a sucker. Zachary heard the word sucker and started asking for one too. Well, we didn't have any suckers along and the melt down started. Crying and jumping up and down, saying "I want a sucker"! We got him calmed down and headed over to the tigers and bears. Now wouldn't you know it, we finally make it to the tigers and bears, which Zachary has been asking to see all morning, and there on the ledge by the tigers is the little boy's sucker. Zachary makes a bee line for the sucker and picks it up, Brian starts yelling "don't touch it" and grabs it out of his hand and we have another melt down. The picture above is of Brian and Zachary in front of the tigers. Zachary is looking over at the sucker he is NOT aloud to have. I don't think he even looked at the tigers. The sucker was more important! The rest of the zoo experience went fairly well. Parker fell asleep while Brian and Zachary were looking at the jelly fish. On the way home we asked Zachary what his favorite animal was and he said the lions. Aren't 2yr olds fun!
